About Us

Assisted Living Comparison Experts is a university-based non-profit website founded by researchers who have more than 20 years of experience working in and conducting research about assisted living. Through talking with thousands of people, we learned that few people understand how variable assisted living is, and how choosing the wrong residence can impair quality of life. We also learned how difficult it is to simply know what assisted living residences exist, let alone understand their differences so you can find the best fit in terms of your needs and preferences. Assisted Living Comparison Experts was developed to provide unbiased, objective information to help you find the best fit.

OUR METHODS

Assisted Living Comparison Experts includes information that dozens of organizations consider as important when choosing an assisted living residence. It includes information about all assisted living residences, not just those that pay to be listed. Our information is compiled from state records, as well as information we obtain directly from assisted living providers; we also include reviews posted by people who have first-hand knowledge of different residences. Our website explains why this information is important, and allows you to search and compare residences based on this information. In this way, you can identify the settings that you want to visit based on your individualized needs and wants. You should not choose a residence until you have actually visited it.
